All About Therapy & Me
Counselling and psychotherapy is an opportunity for you to discuss any issues or stresses in your life with an experienced practitioner. Through counselling, we can explore your thoughts and feelings with an aim to uncover the reasons for any distressing feelings.
Through a deeper understanding of what the root cause of your problem is, we can work towards finding better ways for you to cope and to ease the pain and distress, allowing change with lasting results, helping you to move forward with your life.
I am a qualified humanistic integrative counsellor which means I use different psychotherapeutic techniques allowing me to be flexible and adapt the way I work to suit each of my client’s needs. I believe this is important because each person is unique and therefore no one approach or theory can be used to treat the different issues that a client presents...
How Can Counselling Help Me?
Many of us face challenging or distressing times in our lives and could do with help and support from someone outside our family and friends. It could be a loved one who has died, relationship issues, work issues, depression or personal issues that cause you to feel anxious, unhappy or just not yourself.
It is often difficult to open up and reveal what is bothering us and sometimes we don’t even know. People often ask ‘how can you help me with my problems by just listening?’. I believe that when we are listened to, understood and respected we can change how we feel. Through counselling, we work together to help you uncover the reasons for your distress and overcome the hurdles in your life. Our sessions are an opportunity for you to be listened to and to really understand what is important to you, in a confidential and non-judgmental space.
This can be a very difficult and painful process so we will work at a pace that is comfortable for you.
